THE YEAR OF GOD'S FAVOR

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Luke 4:19 NIV

Brothers and sisters, for the past week, we have been reflecting on God's righteousness. The major reason is for us to know the meaning of Jesus in our lives, how God has revealed his kingdom and righteousness through Jesus. This is all because God's special favor is upon us.

Our opening verse tells us his favor is on you and me, that is like we are living on God's credit, we are qualified and approved in everything no matter how bad our own credit is. Psalm 89:17 says "By Your favor our horn is exalted and we walk with uplifted faces!"

Therefore, let's not wait till Christ comes before enjoying this wonderful favor of God, for we are living in God"s kingdom now. Christ is already ruling us in his righteousness , and God's favor is upon us. But if we don't know it, we don't live this kingdom life . If we are looking for signs or proves, we won't live it. Luke 17:20‭-‬21 says “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

Also Colossians 1:13 says "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. Remember we are spirit beings, recreated in the image of God, who is Spirit. Just as we don't see our spirits so also we don't see God as well as the kingdom. We live the kingdom life by faith.

and that the time of the Lord ’s favor has come. ” - Luke 4:19 NLT

We received God's favor because we are in Jesus, God doesn't check our qualifications or merits, instead He qualifies us ( 2 Cor 3:5) That is why it is called grace, God's unmerited favor. So, we children of God never suffer disappointment because we are favored by God.

Brothers and sisters, in any situation no matter how challenging, know that we are under God's favor, and because we are under God's favor, it will work together for good for us who are in Christ.

2020 was a tough year but 2021 is the year of God's favor. Because psalm 30:5 says "For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning."

Remember, though we are in the world, we are not of this world, we live in him, as the Bible says "in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring (Acts 17:28)

Let's not at any point lose sight of God's favor in our lives. It is one of the benefits we enjoy as God's royal priests. It is not by our own merit but because we are in his kingdom. Remember, it pleases God to give us his kingdom [Lk 12:32]

Many of us might be wondering why we should go through tribulations in our lives if we have God's favor. God does not prevent us from tribulations, rather He protects us in tribulations so that none of our bones are broken, and we always emerge victorious at the end.

God's favor makes us right with God, so any tribulation that comes our way is already purified by God, nothing comes to us as a surprise to him, and because of his favor, our later days are always better than the former.

Always remember, because of his favor, we are living in his name and because we are living in his name " He guides us along the right paths for his name sake" "And because of his mercy, our feet will never slip". Also "His righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway"

That is why the scripture says "Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. "Psalms 85:10‭. This is the life Christ brought to us, eternal life. God kind of life! Brothers and sisters, God delights in us, we and Jesus are his only begotten children, "we should be walking with uplifted faces!"

The Bible says "He made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,(Ephesians 2:5‭-‬6 )

Kings at the village receive favors at the village level. Governors and presidents also receive gifts and favors from others, even from other colleagues at state and national levels respectively.

In our kingship, our throne is in the heavenly realm just as Jesus. God did not seat us on the heavenly throne with Christ for nothing.

This is the highest throne in the world. It commands respect and authority. We obtained gifts and favors from God on the heavenly's and they manifest in the physical world.

Because we are seating on the throne, things manifest in our favor. Our life is completely transformed into supernatural, God kind. That's why the Lord said in Ephesians 2:7, "In order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus -

Beloveds, no matter how our earthly circumstances are, always know that we are seating in the heavenly throne with Christ. We are in the throne of God's favor. Ps 68:29 says "Because of your temple at Jerusalem kings will bring you gifts."

Isaiah 61:6 says "And you will be called priests of the Lord , you will be named ministers of our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast. Let's be patient, we are God's VIP's , royal priests, at the right time his grace will locate us.
