So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.
Acts of the Apostles 20:28 NLT
In Matthew 14, the apostles asked Jesus to send the people away so they could go and get food for it was getting dark. But the Lord told them, “They don't have to leave,” . “You yourselves give them something to eat!” (Matthew 14:16 GNT) In the 19th verse , after He multiplied the loaves and fish, He still gave them to the apostles to feed the people.
Notice that the apostles could only feed the people after Jesus enabled them to do so. Jeremiah 23:4 ESV says about it, “I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.” The Hebrew word translated as “set” is “qum”, which means to raise, arise from a lower position to higher one.
Just as the Lord raised the apostles in Matthew 14 to feed the people, so also He has raised us up through the power of the Holy Spirit to feed the poor, weak and needy in our society with the Word of God. Kings, nations are waiting to walk in our light. Many are not enjoying the inheritance Jesus purchased for them with His blood because of lack of knowledge. It is our duty to feed them the word of God so they can receive their inheritance( Acts 20:32)
That is why the Lord sent St. Paul, “ to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’ “(Acts 26:18 NKJV)
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO FEED AND SHEPHERD GOD’S FLOCK IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
