CHRIST OUR NEW IDENTITY

I)

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me - Galatian 2:20

If we want to learn our new identity, focus on Jesus. Jesus has always existed as the Word of God through whom everything was created, He took flesh and dwelled among us as Jesus and is dwelling in us now and we in him, for He said "When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you - John 14:20

So, we are Jesus inside out. Also, In our opening verse, we are dead already and alive in Christ because Christ lives in us. So we are living in his name and identity. This means that all the inheritance of Christ belongs to us, therefore, goodness and mercies shall follow us all the days of our lives.

This is why the bible says "There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” [Acts 4:12]

This is our new and everlasting identity God planned for us before the foundation of the world.

We pray for the grace to grow in the knowledge of our identity to the glory of God the Father in Jesus name Amen!

( II)

for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ - Galatians 3:27

Our verse tells us we are wearing Christ as new clothes. Therefore, we are living in his name and automatically operating with his strength, his righteousness and favor. Let's never lose sight of these things, they are the tools we are DRESSED with and with which we share in his glory, the divine nature of God.

So the scripture says "In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation - 1 Peter 5:10

This is the life God planned for his children right from creation, which has been revealed to us now. The scripture calls it "CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY " ( COL 1:27) Think about this, if you are given a calculator to use in a mathematics exam and you chose not to use it, if you fail, who are you to blame?

That is why St Paul said about us, that the Lord sent him "to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND INHERITANCE AMONG THOSE WHO ARE SANCTIFIED BY FAITH IN ME"
