Mary's first words to the shepherds at La Salette  " Come near my children, be not afraid, I am here to tell you  great news",  reminds us the great news of salvation, announced by the angels to the shepherds "But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.' Luke 2:10 .
